Coastal path and mountain landscape in soft mist

Mount Putuo lies in the Zhoushan archipelago and is reached by water. Its sights can be understood in areas around Puji Temple and Xitian, the Purple Bamboo Grove and Nanhai Guanyin, and Fayu Temple, Foding Mountain, and Huiji Temple; each requires a different distance and level of effort.

If you want room to pause between sea wind and temple courtyards, do not compress all three areas into one sprint. Begin with the principal temple and southern coast, then continue toward Fayu Temple and Foding Mountain the following day; confirm current transport and access before travelling.
